He alw...Funny - my 10 year old is very competitive. He always wants to race me getting dressed in the morning. If I don't want to race him - he says "I'll bet I can be ready for school in less than 10 minutes" :) <br />I am personally competitive with myself. I always want to better my time. I am not as fast a runner as you - and on training runs I am usually in the high 8's or low 9's. I am new to running though, and last fall, I ran my first 10K and came it @ a 7:47 pace. I wasn't trying to run faster than normal, but subconsciously, I think I kept picking up the pace a bit every time someone was within "striking" distance in front of me. :) I passed many more people than passed me - so I felt great. <br /><br />Found your blog through your mention of it on beginnertriathlete.com.
